Your Bolt app, ready for production and the stores

Bolt gets a full-stack app running in your browser in an afternoon. Before strangers use it, someone needs to check what it put where.

What usually needs work

  • Keys in the code. Bolt writes keys into the source to get things working. Some end up in code the browser can see. We find them, move them to the server side, and rotate them.
  • Routes with no login check. Server functions that anyone can call if they know the URL.
  • Database rules. If you use Supabase, every table needs row level security that you have tested as another user.
  • Input checks. Data from forms going straight into the database, with no validation on the server.
  • Preview versus production. Things that work in the Bolt preview and fail once deployed: environment variables, CORS, auth redirect URLs.

Bolt now runs a security check when you publish. That's useful. It still can't tell whether a user who is allowed to see invoices should see theseinvoices. That needs a person who knows your app. See what our security audit tests.

Mobile apps from Bolt

Bolt can start mobile projects with Expo. Expo is a good base, and we take it the rest of the way: signing, builds, push notifications, in-app purchases, privacy answers and store submission. If your Bolt project is a web app, we wrap it with Capacitor and add the native features Apple expects.

What we do

The same four steps as every Ship It project:

  1. Audit (3 days)
  2. Sprint (2 to 3 weeks)
  3. Store review
  4. Optional care

See what each part includes.

What clients say

  • “We brought iMobile Designs in to improve and refine an existing web application, and they handled everything efficiently. Communication was clear, turnaround was fast, and the final implementation was exactly what we needed.”

Questions founders ask

Bolt says my app passed its security audit. Do I still need one?

Maybe not a full one. An automated scan catches known patterns. It doesn't test your business rules, your payment flow, or whether your app will pass App Store review. Our audit covers those.

Can I keep building in Bolt after you fix it?

Yes. We'll tell you which files hold the security rules and native parts, so new prompts don't overwrite them.

My Bolt app uses Expo. Can it go straight to the stores?

It can get close. Most Expo apps still need signing set up, store listings, privacy details, and sometimes in-app purchases before they pass review.
